No win, no fee's star turn
Erin Brockovich, the American activist who was depicted in a feature film starring Julia Roberts, is set to help the residents of a small Australian town make a multimillion-dollar no win, no fee compensation claim against a mining-giant.
The no win, no fee class-action compensation claim comes as a number of residents of the community of Yarloop, a small town near Perth, have reported suffering from health problems such as skin rashes, nausea and nosebleeds.
It is understood that Ms Brockovich contacted a Queensland firm of no win, no fee solicitors asking them to take on the class-action compensation claim.
The mining-giant may not be the only organisation facing the wrath of Ms Brockovich and a no win, no fee claim. No win, no fee solicitors may also make a compensation claim against the Western Australian state government on behalf of the residents for allowing the mine to grow to such an allegedly hazardous size.
