HSE investigate fatal forklift accident near Dudley

A work accident in the Black Country has resulted in fatal personal injury being suffered by a waste plant worker last week. A health and safety investigation has already begun into the incident.

The man involved suffered crush injury and was confirmed dead at the scene. Initial reports suggest that this case involved a forklift accident, as police taped off a forklift truck, a lorry and a pile of tyres.

Further details were not available, so it is not known whether the man's family intends to make a compensation claim as a result of this tragedy. People have been laying flowers at the entrance to the site where the work injury occurred.

A Health and Safety Executive spokesperson stated that the body was aware of the work accident and that the police were involved in the investigation.
