Car crash outside home causes worry

A woman from Birmingham has spoken of her relief after sustaining only minor whiplash in a car crash which her husband says "could have killed her".

The 39-year-old mother-of-three had just returned home from her weekly supermarket shop when a Ford driver slid on the wet surface of the road outside her house before crashing into her parked car, causing the former midwife to suffer whiplash injury in the process.

The mother said that she was "hugely relieved" that none of her children had been in the car with her. She also said that it was only "blind luck" that she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

However, both the woman and her husband believe that it was not bad luck that caused the whiplash accident to happen. It was only three months ago that their previous vehicle was written off in similar circumstances. And although no family members were passengers at the time of the first incident, they believe it may be only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured or worse and have called for the local council to look into the road surfacing issue urgently.

It is not known if any no win, no fee solicitors have been contacted in relation to the incident.
