Whiplash as road traffic accident occurs in layby

A Torquay road traffic accident occurred this week in a layby, as a stationary van was hit by a Ford Transit at 6am.

As a result of the car accident, the carriageway was closed for two hours, as emergency services attended the scene. The driver of the stationary van is believed to have suffered personal injury including whiplash and shoulder pain, while the other driver is reported to have escaped without serious harm. He was taken to Torbay hospital, but has made no comment regarding a potential compensation claim.

The police confirmed that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the road traffic accident.
