Accident survivor designs Birdman flying machine
A Sussex motorbike crash survivor is to enter the Worthing Birdman competition, and will help to raise money for a children's charity by doing so. The 22-year-old is a student at Northbrook College, working on an aerospace course, and - with the help of colleagues - is designing a flying machine for a team that is raising money for Sparks, a medical research charity. Interestingly, the funds will be used to pay for research into eczema, rather than the kinds of personal injury a motorcycle accident may cause. The young man's motorbike crash occurred on the A27 and resulted in his incurring severe personal injury to his spine and internal organs, and necessitated the removal of a kidney.
