Slip, trip and fall news 09/06/2011
Shopper awarded personal injury compensationA man has been awarded £10,000 in personal injury compensation after a slip, trip and fall accident in his local supermarket. The accident took place in January 2008 when the claimant was shopping in the Peterborough store and slipped on a grape. The extent of his injuries is unknown, however, a personal injury claims expert has stated that due to the size of the award the injury sustained was likely to have involved soft tissue damage in the claimant's back. The judge who heard the case at Peterborough County Court ordered the supermarket to pay the claimant £10,000 in personal injury compensation as well as £18,000 in costs. The supermarket is now facing more cases as personal injury victims have come forward following accidents which have taken place since January 2008.
