British tourists make holiday accident claim
A group of 42 British tourists had to seek the advice of a personal injury lawyer after they suffered chemical burns in the pool of a hotel in Corfu. The UK holidaymakers took legal action after 33 of them suffered from painful rashes due to the chemical content of the hotel swimming pool where they were staying. Among those to make compensation claims were an Essex couple whose whole family was affected by the burns. After the hotel's doctor eventually admitted that the burns had been caused by the chemicals in the pool, the families involved decided to make personal injury compensation claims for the distress the burns caused. The hotel manager was said to have been aware that the chemical content was of a hazardous level yet kept the pool open regardless. The Essex family has since won an undisclosed amount from Thomas Cook, thanks to the help of their personal injury lawyers.
