Wrong way M6 accident claim averted
A Windermere pensioner was recently stopped travelling the wrong way up the M6, averting the need to make a serious car accident claim.
Cars were reported to have swerved, spun and lost control as the 82-year-old woman drove her silver Peugeot for four miles along the outside lane of an unlit section of the M6 in Cumbria.
Remarkably, only one car is reported to have crashed. Many people could have been killed, injured, or otherwise required the services of an accident claim company.
The woman halted immediately when she became aware of the police's flashing lights, but may still be facing a charge of dangerous driving following this incident.
