Wrexham man wins car crash neck injury award

A 49-year-old engineer has been awarded a payout for whiplash after sustaining the neck injury in a collision near the North Wales town of Wrexham.

The father-of-three, whose third child was born only two months after the December 2008 car crash, says he has experienced chronic pain, sleepless nights and significant loss of enjoyment since the collision.

However, he said he was "relieved" to receive a payout for whiplash and said that "frankly... the speed at which [the other driver] hit me... I was lucky."

The insurance company representing the other driver earlier admitted liability for the neck injury claim but contested the amount of damages sought by the claimant; however out-of-court negotiations between the claimant's no win, no fee solicitor and the insurance company's legal representatives resulted in a swift payout for whiplash and an outcome satisfactory to both parties.
