No win, no fee solicitor news 23/08/2007
No compensation for self-harmer
The no win, no fee solicitor representing an Australian man who suffered personal injuries after injuring his foot while stepping on broken glass at a friend's barbecue has failed to secure compensation for his client.
Adelaide news outlets report that the major stumbling block faced by the no win, no fee solicitor in attempting to secure personal injury compensation was the revelation that his client, a 36-year-old bricklayer, had broken the offending bottles himself in a 'senseless and drunken outburst'.
One guest who was at the barbecue described the personal injury compensation claimant's behaviour on the day as being 'irresponsible, foolhardy, careless and aggressive."
It is understood that, once the revelations came to light, the man's no win, no fee solicitor immediately advised him to drop the accident claim.
