Hit and run driver hospitalised Lancashire 5-year-old

A 5-year-old Lancashire boy has received serious personal injury in a hit and run crash in Nelson. Witnesses have been interviewed and local police are keen to speak to anyone who may have further information regarding this car accident.

The boy remains in a stable but critical condition at his local hospital. His brother, who received minor personal injury in the hit and run incident, has been released. The family were unavailable for comment to newspapers regarding their injured son, or their intentions to retain a personal injury solicitor for the purposes of making a compensation claim.

The driver, who was in a silver hatchback or saloon, drove off toward Lomeshaye. A police spokesman said "We would also make a plea for the driver, if they have any conscience, to surrender themselves to the police or any occupants of the vehicle also."

A local man has been arrested in connection with this hit and run crash.
