Farmer crushed by tractor trailer

A farmer in Northamptonshire has died after being crushed by a trailer in a work accident.

The 64-year-old was killed on a site in Station Road, Finedon, while operating a tractor.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the accident but sadly the man died from his injuries.

A neighbour commentating on the accident said, "It's terrible. I've got relatives who are farmers and the amount of people who have fatal farming accidents is unbelievable.

"It's a dangerous industry."

Due to a spate of farming accidents, the Health and Safety Executive has launched a safety awareness campaign for farm workers to try to reduce the number of work accidents suffered in relation to farming.
