Couple to launch compensation claim against bus firm

A Scottish tourist is seeking personal injury compensation after being hit by a branch while travelling on an open-top bus in New York.

The 61-year-old had been on a sightseeing trip around the city when an overhanging branch struck him, causing him to suffer head injuries. He was later diagnosed with concussion at Cooper University Hospital.

The man claims that his injuries were so severe he has been left unable to taste or smell anything since the accident took place.

The Scotsman is now seeking around $75,000 (£47,000) in personal injury compensation from the bus company for the pain and anguish the accident has caused him.

The wife of the injury victim has also launched a claim for compensation for the affect her husband's injuries have had on her life.

The couple's claims for personal injury compensation are ongoing.
