Businesswoman receives damages for faceliftA mother of three and successful businesswoman has been awarded multi-million pound clinical negligence compensation. The 49-year-old woman from Surrey underwent cosmetic surgery in 2003 which resulted in serious personal injuries. The woman claims that the cosmetic surgeon who carried out the facelift used experimental techniques which left her with nerve damage to one side of her face. Shortly after the injury was caused the woman started suffering from anxiety and depression which led to the downfall of her company, which she ran with her husband. The High Court in London heard the cosmetic surgeon in question accept liability, although he denies using experimental techniques. The woman was awarded over £6m in clinical negligence compensation for the pain, suffering and loss of income caused by the incident.
