Whiplash neck injury results from careering cement mixerAn Oxfordshire road traffic accident involving a runaway cement mixer has, incredibly, left the people involved with no personal injury more serious than whiplash. The people involved include an elderly couple, a pregnant woman and several netball players. The driver whose car crashed into the cement mixer said, "It flew like a bobsleigh. It clipped the front of the car and pulled me towards the middle of the road where vehicles were ready to turn to Bampton. "I tried to pull back to the correct side of the road, but I hit an elderly couple's car. "I didn't know at the time it was a cement mixer, I just saw an orange rusty shape hurtling across the road. "It could have been so much worse. If it had hit the side of my car, it would have probably killed my friend." Her passenger still suffered a whiplash neck injury as a result of the collision. It is thought that the mixer had come loose from a blue Land Rover, which had been towing it before the road traffic accident. The driver of this vehicle did not stop, and police have begun to search for this person. Witnesses are invited to call 08458 505050 or 0800 555111 if they saw the crash, which could have caused much more serious personal injury than whiplash, or have any information about the moments before.
