Vehicle climbs on two more in car park car crash

A Belfast car crash in a Tesco car park occurred on Tuesday night, in which one runaway high-end car damaged another and crushed a Toyota Celica.

Press pictures of the scene show a Lexus parked on top of a Porsche Boxster and the Celica next to it. It is only the driver of the Boxster who is reported to have received personal injury in the car accident, and this is not thought to be life-threatening.

BBC reporters in Northern Ireland spoke to the Celica driver, but he was "not in the mood to give interviews" regarding the car crash, resulting personal injury, or the likelihood of his making a compensation claim.

Initial reports suggested that the car crash may have resulted from a gear error, but it may not be until the police investigation is concluded that the answer will be known.
