Sir Chris Hoy in car crashOlympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy may make a car accident claim after he was involved in a collision near the National Cycling Centre in Manchester. Although the star managed to escape the crash without injury, his £80,000 XKR sports car was badly damaged in the accident. A spokesperson for the champion cyclist said: "Chris was slowly edging forwards to turn right into a main road when the front of his car was hit from the right by a car that had overtaken the queue of stationary traffic by driving on the chevron area." The driver of the Vauxhall Vectra which hit Sir Chris admitted that the collision was his fault and apologised to the sportsman. Despite the accident, Sir Chris went on to train in preparation for the European Championship in November which will determine whether he will qualify for the London 2012 Olympics. It has not been reported whether the cyclist will make a car accident claim for the car crash at this stage.
