Man dies in head-on collision

A man in his early twenties has been killed after a car crash in Dunfermline.

The car accident happened at 9.28pm in Halbeath Road after the young man's BMW collided with a Land Rover travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Land Rover escaped the car accident with relatively minor injuries.

Police closed the road and diversions around the busy road were in place for several hours.

The full circumstances surrounding the crash have yet to be established and crash investigators are appealing for witnesses to the accident to call police on 01592 251111.

A police spokesperson said that the BMW driver has yet to be formally identified following the car crash.
