Six car pile-up causes delays into Ipswich

Mulitple car crash claims are likely to be made after a six-car collision on the A14 westbound carriageway, just before the Orwell Bridge at Nacton near Ipswich..

The initial car crash involved two vehicles but up to six became involved in the pile-up which was described by police as a "shunt."

The most badly damaged vehicle was a Ford KA, but it was not thought anyone was seriously injured in the car accident.

However, the resulting tail backs from the accident led to major delays along the arterial routes into Ipswich during the busy morning rush hour period.

Drivers reported heavy delays along Foxhill Road, Felixstowe Road and Nacton Road as the backlog of diverted traffic filtered into town at a crawl.

Car crash claims are likely to follow a decision by police on who was liable for the incident.
