Whiplash victim speaks out on crash

An elderly widow who was involved in a car accident with a disqualified driver has told her local paper of the serious effects of the road traffic accident on her mental and physical health.

The woman, 74, was hit by the illegal driver and suffered bruising, whiplash and broken bones in her hands. Although the man held responsible for the car crash was given a 12-month suspended sentence and banned from driving for a further 12 months, the victim does not believe this is a sufficient punishment.

She has spoken of serious mental scars alongside the personal injury she suffered, adding that "I really don't know if I will recover from this." However, no comment has been made regarding her intention to make a no win, no fee compensation claim as a result of the car accident.
