Teenager awaits compensation decision

A 15-year-old boy who suffered multiple injuries in a bus accident is set to win a substantial settlement of personal injury compensation.

The boy, from Croydon in London, suffered damage to his spine, hip, and leg after being dragged under the 198 bus while on his way home from school.

During a High Court hearing, the company that operates the bus involved has admitted liability for the bus accident but disputes the amount of compensation the boy's personal injury solicitor is claiming for.

Recalling the day of his accident, the boy said, "I saw the bus. I was down the street. I made a run for it, missed it and knocked on the window.

"The driver looked at me and carried on driving. So I started walking away and the bottom of my trousers got caught and it happened."

"Most of my dreams have been about the 198. I start shaking. I can't believe I made it through that."

"I remember everyone was taking their phones out to take pictures. One person had a phone in my face and I heard the click."

As well as claiming bus accident compensation for his client's physical injuries, the boy's solicitor argues there should be a settlement to account for the boy's Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
