If you have been injured in a road accident,
consider a compensation claim

In 2002, over 27,000 people were killed or seriously injured after a road accident in the UK, making an average of 107 people a day. As the number of vehicles on our roads continues to increase, so do the number of accidents each year.

Road traffic accidents can happen any time of day or night. There are, however, peaks and troughs.

Vehicle accidents
Most car accidents happen in the morning and evening rush hours, between 8 and 9 am , and between 5 and 8pm . The safest time to be on the roads is in the very early hours of the morning, when there is less traffic, although the number of car accidents between 10 and 11 am is also slightly lower than during the rest of the day.

Pedestrian accidents
The most likely pedestrians to be involved in a road accident are children under 16 on their way back from school, between 3 pm and 5 pm . There were 718 casualties seriously injured or killed between 3 pm and 4 pm in 2002. There is also a peak between 8 am and 9 am , when children are on their way to school.
